France Alter Eco will become part of Distriborg, Wessanen's French-based operations. Its brand, products and philosophy are complementary to those of our successful French business. After having taken Clipper on board early 2012, this will be another milestone in the execution of our strategy of strengthening our European leadership in organic food.
Royal Wessanen is a leading company in the European organic food market. In 2012, Wessanen generated revenue of €711 million, employing 2,064 on average. Operating mainly in France, the Benelux, UK, Germany and Italy, the company manages and develops brands and products in the grocery and health food channels.
Next to its leading position in organic food businesses, the company also produce and market branded (Beckers, Bicky) and private label frozen snack products in the Benelux (IZICO) and fruit drinks (Little Hug) and cocktail mixers (Daily's) in the US (ABC).
