The agreement to acquire Odom's Tennessee Pride was announced on 17 April 2012. The acquisition is part of ConAgra's strategy to strengthen its capabilities in the frozen breakfast market. It is expected to complement ConAgra's existing frozen foods business, which includes Banquet and Healthy Choice frozen meals.

The deal includes Odom's Tennessee Pride's facilities in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dickson, Tennessee, and its headquarters office in Madison, Tennessee.

Tennessee Pride, which has approximately 750 employees, has annual sales of more than $190m.

ConAgra has been seeking to acquire smaller food companies that complement its existing food business, expand its private-label business or ones that strengthen its international footprint.
