American restaurant chain Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill has signed a franchise deal with GS GMG to open nearly 46 new outlets in the greater New York area.

The first restaurant under the agreement is expected to open outside Hartford, Connecticut.

Garbanzo vice president Bob Bafundo told fastcasual.com that second outlet is scheduled to open in 2013 and three more in 2014.

"We are excited to work in partnership with GS GMG to bring our unique Mediterranean flavors to the New York area," Bafundo added.

GS GMG is also looking for locations in Westchester County, Long Island and in other communities across Connecticut, reported the website.
