Aviko, a Royal Cosun compotatopany, has reached agreement on the acquisition of a majority stake in Amberger. This Bavarian family firm is a specialist in the production of fresh potato products for the foodservice market. The investment in Amberger will strengthen Aviko's position in this segment in Germany and Austria.

These two countries are important sales markets for Aviko. The acquisition adds a broad range of potato specialties to its range, enabling it to serve the foodservice market in Germany and Austria even better.

Amberger regards Aviko's participation as an investment in the continuity and future growth of the family business. Mr Martin Amberger will continue to be in charge of the day-to-day running of the Amberger organisation.

The agreement is subject to the approval of the German regulator.
