Avure Technologies Food DivisionAvure Technologies Food Division will open a new site in Middletown, Ohio, designed for manufacturing, engineering, procurement and customer service operations for ready-to-eat whole muscle and sliced meats, ground beef and ground turkey patties, seafood, fresh-cut fruits and juices, deli salads, condiments, dips, soups, salsas and sauces.

The Franklin, Tenn.-based company will begin renovations to an existing 50,000-square-foot facility for production of high-pressure processing (HPP) systems. Avure expects to start operations in Middletown in the third quarter of 2013.

“Worldwide demand for Avure’s HPP technology is growing at an accelerated pace,” says Jan Söderström, president and CEO. “Establishing a North American manufacturing operation is a key step in building the global infrastructure to support the rapidly expanding market. It also demonstrates our commitment to maintaining Avure’s leadership position and advancing innovation for the benefit of our customers.”

“The new manufacturing facility will produce high-quality HPP systems at the lowest possible cost. Avure will leverage the industrial infrastructure and the materials expertise found in southwestern Ohio to deliver a great product to our customers,” says Mark Morgan, director of food operations.

“Our new site meets all the key criteria for efficient press manufacturing, in addition to outstanding proximity to major transportation corridors,” adds Matt Rutherford, senior vice president of business development and global sales. “The Middletown facility is well situated to serve our largest and fastest growing market.”

Avure worked collaboratively with state and city officials as well as the site owner on a facility development plan and incentive package to meet Avure’s long-term objectives.
