Nestlé has introduced Nescafé Dolce Gusto ‘coffee shop at home’ machine in Australia, as part of its plans to build on the brand’s success.

Nescafé Dolce Gusto, which makes 30 different hot and cold beverages including cappuccino, hot chocolate and iced tea, has reportedly clocked global sales of almost CHF600m ($644m) in 2011.

The Australian roll out of Nescafé Dolce Gusto comes two months after Nestlé launched Special.T premium portioned tea in five new European countries.

Nestlé Australia beverages business executive manager Kais Marzouki the home beverage machine has a 15-bar pressure pump, which helps to produce a layer of frothy milk to create macchiato, cappuccino, or café au lait.

"It sets a new standard in Australia by allowing consumers to use just one machine to make café-style coffee, as well as a range of other beverages, quickly, easily and without any mess," he added.

The Switzerland-based firm first launched Nescafé Dolce Gusto in Switzerland, Germany and the UK in 2006. It is now available in 62 countries, with 41 of these in Europe.

The company announced that it would open a new CHF265m ($284m) Nescafé Dolce Gusto factory in Germany and invest £110m in its Nescafé Dolce Gusto factory in the UK to triple coffee capsule production.
