Scientists from Baylor College of Medicine, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Vanderbilt University report that 80 mg soy hypocotyl isoflavones per day for six weeks had no effect on a number of cardiovascular measures, including blood pressure, nitric oxide synthesis, forearm blood flow, or estimates of arterial stiffness.

The randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled trial involved 24 menopausal women with high normal blood pressure.
