The Federal Office for Agriculture announced this in a press release.
A similar agreement already existed between the EU and the USA. Now Swiss organic products can compete against those from the EU. The organic market in the US is growing rapidly and is of great importance.
The arrangement applies to organic products that have been produced, processed or packaged in Switzerland or in the United States. Certain restrictions apply to organic wines and organic animal products.
