PPreferred Freezer Servicesreferred Freezer Services has broken ground on a third cold-storage facility in the Miami area. The 118,000 square foot-temperature-controlled facility is in Hileah Gardens.

The company projects the warehouse will be completed in March 2014. The site will boast a 20,000-pallet capacity, 12 dock doors and Lithonia Proteon LED lighting throughout. Proteon LED lighting provides sustainable thermal management that reduces operating temperatures in cold storage warehouses while enhancing visibility. The company has an aggressive plan to implement LED lighting in all facilities.

“Preferred Freezer Services is committed to providing unmatched innovation in temperature-controlled logistics combined with a service team of people with a get it done spirit,” said Todd Klumok, Preferred Freezer’s VP of business development.

The company, which has headquarters in Chatham, N.J., has 34 state-of-the-industry temperature-controlled warehouses within the United States and China.
