Sahara Q Shop, the FMCG and retail arm of Sahara India Pariwar, plans a major expansion in the south Indian state of Andhra Pradesh by March 2016.

Sahara Q is aiming at 1,000 exclusive brand outlets in the state, with plans to open 100 stores by March 2014 and 500 outlets in the next one year.

This is expected to generate 7,000 jobs, reports Economic Times, which would involve 1,900 people directly working for the company and around 5,000 working for distributors and vendors.

Sahara Q executive director Romie Dutt said, "Andhra Pradesh is a very important market in our plans to grow exponentially. We see a growth of 30% in demand for fast moving consumer goods in the state."

Sahara Q will source spices, pickle and regional assortment from local vendors.
