AccorMeijiding to Asahi Shimbun reported today, the Meiji Dairies Corporation will formally issue a statement that it would withdraw from the Chinese milk market. Although foreign imported milk powders are popular in Chinese market, Meiji Dairies sales continued downturn in China, affected by the Japanese Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident and deteriorating Sino-Japanese relations.

Meiji Dairies relevant person in charge confirmed in the Asahi Shimbun interview that due to the intense competition in Chinese milk powder market, it is difficult to obtain a stable income. So Meiji Dairies will withdraw from the Chinese milk market after the inventory is sold out.
