Tritent Int’l Agriculture, a company based Pennsylvania, US, has initiated the construction of an infant formula plant in Cascade, Iowa.

The 20,000ft2 plant will have a daily milk processing capacity of 100 tons and will source milk from Swiss Valley, a Midwest dairy co-operative. The plant's products will be primarily be targeted towards China, where the company is setting up a distribution network.

Tritent Int'l Agriculture president Nathaniel Hsieh said that Cascade, Iowa has been selected as the plant site as it lies at the center of the Midwest dairy country and its food supply and processing industries.

For the purpose of plant construction, the company had acquired a 10 acre land in Cascade Industrial Park, Hsieh added.

The construction of the plant is expected to be completed by May 2013.
