Plum Organics, a US-based organic, kids nutrition company, has acquired Plum UK - a leading organic baby food producer in the UK, a move which marks the company's first international expansion.

The acquisition enables Plum to offer premium products catered to the unique needs of infants, toddlers and school-aged children, on an international scale.

Plum UK is known for its innovative product formats as well as premium, culinary-driven assortment. Recently, the company experienced a 24% increase in distribution with the launch of its Taste Adventures line focused on globally inspired cuisine.

With the acquisition, the combined Plum product portfolio will feature more than 150 products with distribution in over 13,000 stores internationally. The company will now have retail sales in excess of $120m.

With this partnership, Neil Grimmer will continue in his role as CEO for the new entity doing business as Plum, while Scott Wotherspoon, the CEO of Plum UK, will continue to lead the UK business. The company, headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, US, will employ 88 people including offices in London and New York.
