The ice cream major entered India through General Mills, one of the world's leading food companies.

"After exclusive lounges in New Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, it is now time for Bengaluru to savour the signature Häagen-Dazs experience," said Arindam Haldar, director, premium foods, General Mills India.

This is the brand's fifth outlet in India, after the ones at Oberoi Mall, Goregaon (East), Mumbai; Select Citywalk Mall in Saket and Terminal 3, Indira Gandhi International Airport (both in New Delhi) and Amanora Town Centre, Hadapsar, Pune.

"Bengaluru, being the IT hub of India, is a fast-growing metropolis and cosmopolitan city, offering a wide array of cuisines which are exotic and traditional. With the new Häagen-Dazs lounge, the city has a one-stop destination to celebrate special moments - big and small - each and every day," said Haldar.

"We have reached an important milestone at Häagen-Dazs in India with the launch of the fifth such lounge in India. This would be the first-ever lounge venturing into South India. Through this new lounge we look forward to sharing an ultimate experience for ice cream connoisseurs in Bengaluru. Also, looking at the appetite of a growing section of consumers in Bengaluru seeking a luxury gourmet experience, Häagen-Dazs is a surefire winner," said the director, premium foods, General Mills India.

The Häagen-Dazs menu contains no artificial flavours, colours or additives. It features flavours like the signature Belgian Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, Macadamia Nut, Dulce De Leche, Vanilla Caramel Brownie, and Mango & Passion Fruit, among others. The dessert variants are Seventh Heaven, Fondue, Mystique, Chocolate Fantasy, Flower Blossom, Paradise and Fruity Journey.

The patisseries include pancakes, crepes, muffins, waffles, brownies and scrumptious chocolate cakes along with fresh fruits, sauces and toppings.

Häagen-Dazs utilises a rigorous testing procedure called the Gold Standard Protocol, designed to guarantee the gold standard quality of all its products.

Häagen-Dazs has consumers in more than 50 countries. It is also available in retail stores, premier hotels and at more than 900 Häagen-Dazs shops worldwide.

In October 2010, Häagen-Dazs received the coveted HT City - Crystals Award 2010 in the frozen dessert category. In March 2011, Häagen-Dazs was conferred with the Best Ice cream Award at the Times Food Awards ceremony.

The US-based General Mills operates in more than 100 countries with its brands, including Cheerios, Häagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Old El Paso, Progresso, Yoplait, Cascadian Farm, Muir Glen, to name a few.
